About the Book
The book is quintessentially a compilation of various intervention strategies, contemporary social work practices, process of resource mobilization, vision of generating indigenous knowledge and comprehension of disaster management for community empowerment. The conceptual dimensions of empowerment in terms of equity, productivity and sustainability have been laid stress on the topics covered in all the ten chapters. Skill training for social work trainees and practitioners by making use of ICT tools and IEC training materials besides awareness of digital proficiency, is highlighted for delivering convincing outcomes in community work. About the Author / Editor
N.S. Ramesh Chandran is the Head of the Department of Social Work, Shree Vidyadhiraja College of Arts & Science, Karunagappally, affiliated to the University of Kerala. He also works as an Academic Counsellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He was Assistant Professor and HoD of Social Work in National College, Ambalathara, Thiruvananthapuram, affiliated to the University of Kerala. He worked as Faculty in National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) and University Institute of Technology (UIT), Regional Centre, Pirappancode, University of Kerala. He has also served as Assistant Registrar, University of Kerala. His several articles besides a short review and a research scale for goal setting, framed for social work students, have been published in reputed journals.
