R.K. Upadhyay is currently Chairman, Department of Social Work, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He has more than three decades experience of teaching and practising social casework. He is the founder-President of Indian Society of Psychiatric Social Workers and the Editor of “Indian Journal of Psychiatric Social Work.” He established the Department of Social Work at Kurukshetra University and was the founder-head of the department, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi. He also visited the United States to gain further expertise in the field. Besides numerous papers, he has published eight books in different areas of social work.
