H.Y. Siddiqui taught in the Department of Soci al Work, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi for over 35 years (1969 2005). He has served on a number of professional committees in India, including The Panel on Social Work Education, Third Review Committee in Social Work, National Curriculum Development Center, Standing Committee for Coaching of Minority, UGC, Rehabilitation Council of India, Association of Schools of Social Work in India and Delhi Association of Trained Social Workers etc. He has also been actively involved in consultancy to various funding agencies, international and national NGOs. He has travelled widely to lecture on various themes like social work education, social development including women’s issues, child labour, drug abuse and so on to several countries including USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia, China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Professor Siddiqui has also published a number of articles and authored/edited several books.
