G. Satyanarayana has been on the faculty of the Department of Sociology, University College of Arts & Social Sciences, Osmania University, Hyderabad, since 1978. He has held several important administrative positions in the government such as Member, A.P. College Service Commission; Member, State Minimum Wages Advisory Board; Member, A.P. State Sainik Welfare Board etc. His areas of research include Rural Development, Factions and Conflict Studies, Social Movements, Women Studies, Sociology of Education, Agrarian Relations and Development Studies. His published works include “Changing Agrarian Structure and Labour Relations” and “Development: Displacement and Rehabilitation.”

Dr. Satyanarayana has visited Spain, West Germany, China, Thailand, Sweden, France, Kenya and South Africa to chair and present papers in various international conferences. At present, he is Professor in the Department of Sociology, Osmania University and also Coordinator, SAP (DRS).
