Part II explains the impact of irrigation on the environmental changes. Part III describes the salient features of three large irrigation projects in Rajasthan. Their social, economic and cultural impacts on environment have also been assessed there. Part IV of the volume covers the various aspects of the Indira Gandhi Canal Command Area. All the writers in this section have also considered the impacts of the project on ecology on the basis of their own experiences in the area. Part V deals with water management schemes for irrigated cultivation in the Canal Command Area.
